    • Louis Giusti Pewter Fish

      Louis Giusti Pewter Fish

      $1,200.00

I have been fortunate enough to find three of these fish over the course of my collecting - it has become a sort of obsession for me to hunt these down. An artisan Louis Giusti created these fish from his seaside studio in Mexico in the 1960s. Some have made there way into the US, where I have been lucky enough to catch them. Truly both a statement and heirloom piece.

    • Pentti Sarpaneva Brass & Bronze Dangling Necklace

Pentti Sarpaneva Brass & Bronze Dangling Necklace

      $375.00

Pentti Sarpaneva went through a phase of making longer necklaces with dangling balls & this is a wonderful example of this period. When I found this from a dealer in Finland, I knew that I had to have it.

    • Blackened Copper Bib

      Blackened Copper Bib

      $395.00

I have recently discovered this blackened copper technique and think it looks quite fresh. This bib contains intricate design and is adjustable so you can wear it long and short.

    • Blackened Copper Triangle Necklace

      Blackened Copper Triangle Necklace

      $325.00

When I first gazed upon this necklace at an estate sale I was unsure of what to make of it. I had never seen blackened metal before & assumed it was just tarnished. However, I quickly realized that this was a technique of the time & once I tried this necklace on I was hooked. Shown here with another example of blackened metal on a bracelet.

    • Guy Vidal Modernist Pendant with Handwrought Chain

Guy Vidal Modernist Pendant with Handwrought Chain

      $450.00

Guy Vidal was a good friend of Robert Larin, both had shops in the same area of Montreal. The relationship is evident in their works: when Robert Larin tried gold plating Guy Vidal tried gold plating. However, this is an example of Vidal speaking in his own voice, more modernist than his typical brutalist style. I also tried this with the chain double wrapped to make a shorter necklace - two in one!

    • Ernandes Brass Neckring with Raw Amethyst

Ernandes Brass Neckring with Raw Amethyst

      $650.00

Oh Ernandes! Can you fall in love with someone without ever meeting them? I have. I discovered this artist from a collector in Brazil and since then have become an addict. I have collected many of his pieces (a good assortment can be found at Broken English in LA) and cannot seem to stop. This is a wonderful example of his work in all its glory: his signature sculptural brass with raw purple amethyst.

    • Robert Larin Gold Plated Silver Pewter Cleopatra Necklace with Black Glass Stones

Robert Larin Gold Plated Silver Pewter Cleopatra Necklace with Black Glass Stones

      $575.00

Toward the latter part of the four years that Robert Larin produced work he began working with gold plating, laying it on top of his silver pewter allow. I love this piece for its pure glam, evoking an image of Cleopatra at Studio 54. Robert Larin was creating pewter jewelry as early as 1968 based in Montreal, PQ and selling across Canada. He employed approximately 25 workers most of whom were deaf, which worked perfectly in a noisy shop. Most of Larin's production jewelry was made of pewter, which was cast by the lost wax process and then filed by hand to remove the rough surfaces left by the casting. The piece was then oxidized or plated with silver or gold and then, finally polished. He only produced work during 1968 through 1972.

    • Robert Larin Delicate Silver/Pewter Necklace

      Robert Larin Delicate Silver/Pewter Necklace

      $395.00

A rare example of Robert Larin in a delicate mood. Wonderful alone or layered with other necklaces.

    • Carl Tasha Brass Necklace with Woman Embracing Green Stone

Carl Tasha Brass Necklace with Woman Embracing Green Stone

      $525.00

Carl Tasha, who passed away a few years ago, was a sculptor and painter who lived most of his life in Provincetown, Massachusetts at the tip of Cape Cod. He is most widely known for his sculpture and his jewelry (bracelets, pendants, rings, earrings, and belt buckles). He often incorporated human or animal figures. Unlike other artisans of this time, Tasha's work was more literal in form. HOW HE WORKED His distinctive style is due in part to the specific metalsmithing techniques he used and developed: melting bronze rods with a hand-held torch while using the melting rod to guide the flowing metal, forging the work as it cools (hammering, bending), and sometimes fusing separate elements together to form one piece.

    • Rare Guy (Gilles) Vidal silver plated pewter necklace

Rare Guy (Gilles) Vidal silver plated pewter necklace

      $490.00

      >Rare and unique brutalist style choker for a confidant woman by Guy (sometimes
known as Gilles) Vidal. Vidal was a Montreal based designer, who worked in
pewter in the late 1960's to early 1970's. It was thought among the jewelry fraternity
that Vidal's designs were somewhat more sophisticated and daintier than others of
the brutalist genre. It was also said that Vidal had concocted his own pewter formula
which provided an ability to work finer designs that still held their strength.
